As a descendant of Indigenous Mexican, Scottish and German ancestors, I fully believe that we embody many colours and sounds. Our communities, neighbourhoods and schools reflect cultures of joy, language, struggle and timeless stories. While some stories have dominated us, there are many stories and songs left unheard, tales and traditions left unexplored and voices and volumes of history left unnoticed.
